Student Services Technology Department

Welcome to the Student Services Technology Department blog.

This blog allows our department (located in School District No.71 (Comox Valley) on beautiful Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada), to communicate with our technology community.

The Student Services Technology Department was created in our district over 7 years ago as a way to provide excellent technological support for students with special educational needs and their teams. We are unique in many ways, the most obvious being that most districts in BC do not have a seperate technology department to support their Student Services teams.

We support all students under the Student Services umbrella term, including those in low incidence, high incidence (learning assistance, resource), alternate education, as well as the incredible educational teams (school, district, community and parents) that support these students.

We provide technology resources through our loan bank (including hardware, software, book/dvd resources, etc,), special projects, professional development, in-service training, and classroom software instruction to name a few things.
